The
program, “Recycle for Special Olympics” is a
partnership between Special Olympics and the RMS Communications
Group to turn unwanted cell phones into cash for Special
Olympics, as well as helping the environment. Donated cell
phones will assist Special Olympics athletes in the community
and around the world.
Special
Olympics will receive a minimum of $1 to more than $100
per donated phone. Depending on the model, as few as three
recycled phones could make it possible for a Special Olympics
athlete to train and compete in their sport for one season,
according to a spokesperson for RMS, the cell phone recycler.
RMS has guaranteed a minimum donation to Special Olympics
of $250,000.
Donation
boxes are located in the lobby of police headquarters, 1000
Route 10, Whippany, and in the lobby of the municipal building
at the same address. |
