| $1
will be donated for every phone sold to www.CellForCash.com.
Or, phone sellers can have their entire sales price donated
OCALA,
FL (PRWEB) January 13, 2005 -- WWW.CellForCash.Com.,
a leading recycler and re-marketer of old cell phones, announced
today that it will donate $1 for every cell phone purchased
to tsunami relief charities.
Also,
people who sell their old cell phones to www.CellForCash.com
will have the option of having their entire sales price
donated to the tsunami victims.
“People
who choose this option can get full cash value for their
telephone, and www.CellForCash.Com
will donate $1 in their behalf to a tsunami charity,”
said James Mosieur, chief executive officer of RMS Communications
Group Inc., the company that operates www.CellForCash.com.
“This terrible disaster may help bring us one step
closer to becoming a global community.”
A
page describing the tsunami relief program has already been
posted on the www.CellForCash.com
website. It will remain operational indefinitely, Mosieur
said.
Mosieur’s
company pays cash to people who offer their old phones over
several company-operated websites, including www.cellforcash.com.
The company goes through the old phones, makes sure they
are in tip-top shape, and then re-sells them throughout
the world, often in South American or Caribbean countries.
Typically,
www.CellForCash.com
pays between $3 and $173 for each useable phone, and will
carefully recycle and dispose of phones that are unusable.
Usable phones are remarketed and resold, and many phones
are donated to domestic violence shelters, senior centers
or other worthwhile organizations.
The
tsunami struck a number of countries that border the Indian
Ocean on Dec. 26. It killed more than 150,000 people and
left hundreds of thousands of other people homeless. |
